Time of Setting by Vicat Needle

For determining normal consistency and time of setting of hydraulic cement.

ASTM   C-187/C-191;   T-129/T-131

Consist of :

• Vicat Apparatus : Cast alumunium  frame, stainless steel rod 10 mm diameter, 300 gr weight with needle, 0 – 50 mm scale.


• Initial Needle : Steel needle, 1 mm diameter, with footing, brass thread.


• Final Needle : Steel needle, 1 mm diameter,  brass, thread.


• Conical Ring Mold : 70 mm base diameter, 60 mm top dia, 40 mm height.


• Glass plate : Glass, 10 mm thick, 12 x 12 cm.
